Attendees commuting to campus by vehicle without a UMD campus parking permit should plan to park on the top level of Regents Drive Garage designated for visitor parking. Visitor parking will cost $3 per hour at the pay stations or via ParkMobile.

Wi-Fi on Campus

UMD offers a free wireless network for guests on campus. The SSID of this network is umd-guest. You must have a mobile phone that can receive SMS text messages to complete the setup. Child and Family Care Resources

Although the CBGPB does not directly provide child-care services, attendees are welcome to bring spouses, children, nannies and babysitters to the conference.

Child care resources:

  • Local drop-in childcare service is available at the Kindercare Center in Lanham, MD (about a 15-minute drive from campus).
  • Other child care options can be identified using the Maryland Family Network’s On-line Childcare Locator service to find a licensed local provider. You will need to create a login and then search around the address of The Hotel: 7777 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, 20740, with your preferred radius and age range. Alternatively, you may call 1-877-261-0060 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. For more information, visit LOCATE: Childcare.

Lactation rooms are available on campus, for example: Stamp Student Union – Room 2103; a key can be requested from the Information Desk located in the main lobby near the Stamp front entrance.

The University of Maryland College Park is offering a variety of room styles in on-campus housing during the conference. All housing options are air-conditioned and include linen, access to a 24-hour hospitality desk, and breakfast buffet each morning in the South Campus Dining Hall. The housing package includes fives nights stay from July 22 - July 27, 2019.

Traditional Housing
In traditional housing, bedrooms are on a corridor, with guests sharing floor bathroom facilities. There are one male and one female bathroom, along with one single-occupant bathroom and recycling and trash rooms on each floor. Each bedroom will have a bed, desk, chair, dresser, and closet space for each occupant (one guest per single room, two guests per double). Linens are provided (two sheets, two towels, blanket, pillow and pillow case).

Semi-Suite Housing
Semi-suites have two bedrooms that share one bathroom and house 2-4 guests. Each bedroom will have the same furniture and linen as the traditional style rooms, though in some cases there may be extra furniture in a room depending on how it was assigned.

Private Bath Housing
Bedrooms with private bath are otherwise identical to traditional style rooms with a private bathroom attached to the room.

Driving Directions
Traveling via I-95
Heading south use the left 2 lanes to take I-95S/I-495S/Washington S/Richmond exit and go 1.3 miles. Merge onto I-495S/I-95S and go 2.7 miles. Take exit 23 for MD-201N/Kenilworth Ave toward Greenbelt and go 0.3 miles. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Route 201 S and merge onto MD-201 S/Hwy 201 S/Kenilworth Ave. Continue on MD-201 S/Hwy 201 S/Kenilworth Ave. Turn right onto Campus Drive, Founder’s Gate (main entrance) is located at Campus Drive and Baltimore Avenue.
Traveling via Route 270
Heading south, stay in left lane and take exit onto I-495 E. Take exit 23 for MD-201N/Kenilworth Ave toward Greenbelt and go 0.3 miles. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Route 201 S and merge onto MD-201 S/Hwy 201 S/Kenilworth Ave. Continue on MD-201 S/Hwy 201 S/Kenilworth Ave. Turn right onto Campus Drive, Founder’s Gate (main entrance) is located at Campus Drive and Route 1.

Getting to College Park and D.C.
Washington D.C. Metro System
The Metro system in D.C. is avaiable for those who want to visit the capital. College Park has a station on the green line located just off campus with UMD Shuttle Service available throughout the day. To plan your trip and examine station locations, plesae visit the WMATA website (https://www.wmata.com/) or view a PDF map at https://www.wmata.com/schedules/maps/upload/2017-System-Map.pdf.
Airports
The University of Maryland is fortunate to have three international airports within a 40 min drive of campus. Please note that Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) are the closest to campus. The quickest method is often Uber or Lyft ($40 depending on time of day).
From DCA
Ronald Reagan National Airport is serviced by the local Metro. It is on the Yellow line. When you arrive at DCA, locate the metro platform, purchase your fare and take the train heading toward Fort Totten or Mt. Vernon Square. When you get to Mt. Vernon Square Metro Station, exit the train and catch the Green Line train heading to Greenbelt, on the same platform. Disembark at the College Park/U of MD Station. To get to the campus guests can either get a taxi or wait for the complimentary campus shuttle titled “104 College Park Metro".
From IAD

Guests flying into Dulles International Airport can commute to the University via the Metrobus  that services the airport. Purchase your fare with cash on the bus and take the shuttle to L’Enfant Metro Station. Once there, take the Green Line towards Greenbelt. Disembark at the College Park/U of MD Station. To get to the campus guests can either get a taxi or wait for the complimentary shuttle titled “104 College Park Metro”.

From BWI

Guests flying into Baltimore/Washington International Airport can commute to the University of Maryland via the Metrobus that services the airport. Purchase your fare with cash on the bus and take the shuttle to Greenbelt Metro Station. During the weekend this bus shuttle will not run. You will need to take a taxi or Super Shuttle that will take you directly to the University of Maryland campus.

Washington D.C. Monuments
The nation’s capital is filled with beautiful and scenic monuments free for guests to explore and visit. Take the Metro down to the Smithsonian Station and begin your journey down the National Mall to explore all of the wondrous monuments.

60-90 Minutes from Campus
Baltimore, MD
Visit Charm City located 30 miles north of College Park. Baltimore is the largest city in Maryland originally founded as a major port city. Visit the National Aquarium, explore the Inner Harbor, enjoy the tastes of Fell’s Point, or hike to Fort McHenry where just offshore Francis Scott Key wrote the National Anthem. ASV guests without cars can catch the Marc Train at the College Park/U of MD Metro Station up to the city center in Baltimore.
Annapolis, MD
Located about 30 miles east of College Park and situated next to the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis is the capital city of Maryland. If you’re looking for a great place to eat crabs, enjoy live music, and enjoy a waterfront walk then this is the place to go. Visitor’s often explore the Naval Academy located just steps away from the main street, or walk from shop to shop in downtown Annapolis. The city is full of history and well worth the visit.
